In Angers, 292 flats are equipped with the eSESH service.
The eSESH services here are aiming at 9% overall energy savings and fixed-time demand reduction with the consequent benefit of lowering contracted power in the future. The approach of the housing provider LTA is to propose an integrated service to tenants focusing on simple and clients-friendly awareness and management services for tenants. This service will be implemented on four pilot sites with punctual functionalities differences regarding the heating system, which will have consequences on the management service developed:
- In Mongazon, with a collective gas heating system, the management service is lead by Effineo and consists of a heating regulation by the heating provider thanks to a dedicated portal (in this case the electric data collection for awareness is lead by Effineo).
- In Brissac, Millot and Le Haut Chêne, with individual electric heating, the management service is lead by Voltalis for load shedding and by the tenant himself for electricity subscription and equipment programming.
Taking into account the low energy class level of the Mongazon buildings and its bad energy consumption status (class G), the housing provider Le Toit Angevin has decided to refurbish it. Furthermore, the collective electric heating system has to be changed due to its bad technical conditions. Unfortunately, this last change will increase charges for the tenants, as the old special electricity tariff based on collective electric heating will be replaced by gas charges. This is the reason why Le Toit Angevin decided to add to the refurbishment an activity to help tenants saving energy.
In addition to the energy awareness service for tenants, the pilot site in Angers develops an internet portal for the heating provider and the social housing staff in order to help optimising the operation (hydraulic balancing and temperature control) of the collective heating system. Thanks to a better knowledge of the temperatures in representative flats, the staff has a better overview of the way the building is heated and can consequently adapt the balancing and the temperature control. This technical portal also presents a real time monitoring of the water meters to alert in case of anomalies or if a leak appears.
