The eSESH services are aiming at 9-12 % overall energy savings – depending on installation type - with the consequent benefit of lowering contracted power in the future.

As energy awareness service a web portal is offered to the social tenants to check and control their energy consumption for heating, gas, hot water, electricity and cold water. The web portal offers the possibility to evaluate trends in their energy consumption and behaviour and allows the tenants to compare their energy consumption in relation to other social tenants and similar household profiles. Additionally, the web portal offers the opportunity to set consumption objectives for the next year.

Zonnige Kempen has both individual as well as collective heating systems in place in its dwellings. The collective heating systems need special attention and monitoring as every change in performance of the systems has a multiplied impact on the several households that depend on the heating system. As the collective systems are spread over eleven towns, the possibility for remote interaction with the systems will be included in the web portal for professional use (Energy Management Service).

The second reason to implement EMS is due to our general concern to reduce energy consumption in social housing. At this point in time, Zonnige Kempen has no overview on the energy behaviour of its tenants. However, the measurement of energy consumption is a first condition to implement measures in the long time.

A new web tool, offered to the technical staff at the social housing provider, should enable them to both monitor heating installations (equipment) and social tenants (people).
